[Kanal Media Unpad] Universitas Padjadjaran is once again invited to “travel around the world” through the International Day 2022 event: “Expanding Unpad Through International Insight, Art, and Science (Expadtriats)”. The inclusive event, which featured a number of Unpad international students from 17 countries, was held on Thursday (8/9/2022) at Bale Sawala and Selasar 1st floor of Unpad’s Rectorate Building in Jatinangor.
Visitors can taste a variety of traditional culinary and cultural performances from various countries where the international students come from.
“17 countries are joining us to celebrate International Day today,” said the Head of the International Office, Ronny, dr., M.Kes., AIFO, PhD.
There are also a variety of information booths on education from various countries, as well as several international programs that Unpad academics can participate in.
Ronny explained that through this event, international students are invited to experience cultural exchange in order to learn about each other’s culture, as well as the values of it. They are also expected to know more about Indonesian culture.
Ronny further stated that Unpad is a home for every international student. For this reason, international students are considered as part of the Unpad family. These students are expected to feel comfortable at Unpad.
The event was officially opened by the Director of Student Affairs and Alumni Relations, Dr. Eng. Boy Yoseph Cahya Sunan Sakti Syah Alam, M.T. In his remarks, he claimed that the activity, in which both domestic and international students participated, shows that there were no boundaries between them.
“We are one big family of Unpad,” said Dr. Boy.
Dr. Boy hopes that students, especially international students, will remember this occasion fondly. Hopefully, this occasion will give them the opportunity to to become ambassadors for Unpad and Indonesia.
“I am proud that Unpad has become the international students’ choice to study abroad.” “I hope that more international students will consider Unpad in the future,” he added.
