Unpad and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Host 2024 Annual Foreign Minister’s Press Statement Watching Event

[Unpad Media Channel] Universitas Padjadjaran with The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia host a “Watching Event of 2024 Annual Press Statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and Discussion on Political and Security Affairs with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs” which is held at Bale Rumawat, Unpad campus, Iwa Koesoemasoemantri, Bandung, Monday (8/1/2024).

In his speech, the Expert Staff for the Field of Economic Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Didin Wahyudin, explained that the event of Annual Press Statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Pernyataan Pers Tahunan Menteri Luar Negeri or PPTM) was an event organized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno L. P. Marsudi, to give explanation about the achievements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over one year.

Didin also mentioned that this event, which was held at 11 campuses in Indonesia, aimed to introduce the achievements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the entire country.

“Hopefully, the reach out and engagement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the campus will give an overview of the numerous activities the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has undertaken over the past year. It is necessary for public awareness,” said Didin.

In addition, Didin also conveyed that the implementation od the Annual Press Statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, held at the Merdeka Building (Gedung Merdeka), was closely related to preparing the Asia Africa Conference’s anniversary.

Didin hoped the event held at Merdeka Building, Bandung, could reiterate the importance of the Bandung Spirit. Didin also said that Bandung Spirit recently resonated in countries across Africa.

“If we meet the President and ministers, they always tell me that the independence of African countries is because of Bandung Spirit. So, it has to be resonated. Not only politics but also relates to the economic cooperation named economy diplomacy,” he explained.
