[Unpad Media Channel] Universitas Padjadjaran is opening its doors to the best candidates to apply to study as postgraduate students fully funded through scholarships.
Unpad offers two scholarship schemes, the Beasiswa Program Doktoral Padjadjaran (BPDP) meant for doctoral programs and the Beasiswa Unggulan Pascasarjana Padjadjaran (BUPP) which is also known as the Master’s-Doctoral Fast Track scholarship.
Unpad’s Rector, Prof. Rina Indiastuti, explained that Unpad aims to open opportunities for future outstanding postgraduate students to study at Unpad through these two schemes. This is done to showcase Unpad’s excellence in higher education beyond the undergraduate level. In order to enhance the quality of the institution, the rate of postgraduate students and graduation must increase.
“Unpad’s appeal lies in its scholarships, which could be of interest to potential postgraduate students of great quality,” said the Rector.
The BPDP and BUPP scholarships have been offered since 2022. Rina added that the two schemes have successfully attracted postgraduate students and produced quality outputs.
This affects Unpad’s global recognition greatly. One aspect through which the scholarships affects Unpad’s global recognition is through increasing its international publications. One of the largest contributors of Q-1 publications is doctoral students.
“So, there is no reason to stop these two programs, we are able to admit excellent students from them,” she said.
The BPDP scheme is awarded to 7 students. The scheme is meant for the best master’s degree graduates wishing to pursue education at a doctoral level at Unpad. The scholarship covers tuition and academic fees as well as research funding for 3 years.
BPDP awardees will conduct doctoral research under the supervision of accomplished promotors form Unpad. Furthermore, the scholarship is open to Indonesian and international applicants.
The BUPP is meant for excellent bachelor’s degree graduates wishing to pursue both a master’s and doctoral degree at Unpad. Through the scholarship, students can finish their master’s and doctoral degrees in 4 years while under the guidance of Unpad’s finest promotors.
The BUPP scholarship scheme covers funding for academic fees and research, as well as monthly living costs for 4 years of study. The scheme is awarded to 20 students.
The Rector added that, through BUPP, Unpad facilitates highly qualified graduates to attain a master’s degree and a doctoral degree within a short amount of time.
“We also offer other benefits, as long as you are able to showcase your academic productivity, so don’t hesitate to apply. God willing, we shall produce excellent Doctors,” she concluded.
