[Unpad Media Channel] Universitas Padjadjaran, through its Career Development Center, held the 2024 Unpad Job Fair at the Grha Sanusi Hardjadinata hall in Unpad’s Iwa Koesoemasoemantri Campus, Bandung on May 21-22.

The event, themed “Accelerate Your Meaningful Career”, started with some opening remarks from Unpad’s Rector, Prof. Rina Indiastuti. In it, she expressed her hopes that the participants could build beneficial careers for the future, echoing the event’s theme.

“So this is not solely for you to get a job, but a career. Having a career means being able to contribute, be productive, be prosperous, and have an impact on the economic growth in Indonesia for as long as you live,” said the Rector.

She also urged the participants to make the most of every part of the event, and to adjust what positions they are aiming for according to their passion and talents.

“I am truly optimistic that all of you will be able to forge a lifelong career which is beneficial. Not only to you and your families, but also for Indonesia,” she added.

The Head of Unpad’s Career Development Center, Dr. Rosaria Mita Amalia, M.Hum., revealed that 43 companies from various industries participated in the fair. She expressed her wish that, through the event, Unpad is able to provide a wide range of opportunities for the participants to find a career that suits them.

“We hope that, with the 2024 Unpad Job Fair, our alumni, students, and the general public will be able to benefit from this opportunity for work laid out right in front of them,” she said.

The event also garnered a warm welcome from the Head of the West Java Office of Manpower and Transmigration, Drs. Teppy Wawan Dharmawan, S.H. Teppy said that the event is a realization of the collaboration between higher education institutions and corporations. Because of that, he hoped the Unpad Job Fair continues on with future events.

“This is how a collaboration between higher education institutions and corporations could look. I, of course, welcome and thank the business leaders who have chosen to take this opportunity of participating in the Unpad Job Fair,” he explained. (arm/ICP)*
