[Unpad Media Channel] Commemorating the 67th Anniversary of Universitas Padjadjaran, the Master of Sustainable Tourism of Graduate School at Unpad holds the International Joint Symposium on Quality Tourism 2024 in Geopark that is conducted in hybrid at Gallery Auditorium of Geopark Kebumen, Wednesday (23/7/2024).*
This is a collaborative event between the Master of Sustainable Tourism and the Management Board of Kebumen Geopark.
The symposium is opened by the Dean of Graduate School at Unpad Prof. Dr. med. Setiawan, dr. AIFM, who appreciates the strong collaboration between the Study Program of Sustainable Tourism and the Management Board of Kebumen Geopark.
“This collaboration is a step to follow up on the ongoing collaboration to support the development of high-quality and sustainable tourism in Indonesia,” he said.
Moreover, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga S. Uno, gives a speech emphasizing the importance of collaboration between various parties to support high-quality and sustainable tourism in Indonesia.
“High-quality and sustainable tourism, especially in geopark areas, will contribute to improving the well-being of Indonesian communities,” said Sandiaga.
Secretary of Kebumen Regency, representing the Regent of Kebumen, also delivers a speech expressing appreciation for the collaboration and the successful organization of the International Joint Symposium on Quality Tourism 2024 in Kebumen.
The event continues with the signing of a Collaboration Agreement in education, research, and communication services between the Study Program of Sustainable Tourism, which is represented by the Dean of Graduate School at Unpad, and the Manager of Education and Cooperation of the Kebumen Geopark.
The symposium is done in hybrid with 80 participants attended in person, while 200 participants joined online. This event presents five speakers, namely Dr. Tpr. Noorhazliza Abd. Halim (Head of Tourism Planning, School of Built Environment, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia), Dr. Jaruwan Daengbuppha (Center of Excellence for Tourism Management Research, Naresuan University, Thailand), Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Tri (Dean, School of Tourism, UEH Vietnam), Defry Hastria, M.Sc. (Geoheritage and Geopark Research Group, Research Centre of Geological Resources, BRIN), and Dr. Kasno Pamungkas, S.S., M.Hum. (Unpad). (arm/SA)*
