[Unpad Media Channel] The Vice Rector for Organization and Planning of Universitas Padjadjaran, Prof. Drs. Yanyan Mochamad Yani, MAIR, Ph.D., officially opened the Unpad Nyeni (Unpad Art Festival) event, which is part of the 67th Anniversary celebrations of Universitas Padjadjaran. The opening of Unpad Nyeni, featuring the “Art Market: Arts Performance and Bazaar,” took place at the PPBS Unpad field, Jatinangor Campus, on Monday, September 2, 2024.

“I hope this brings us all joy. We will build a sense of togetherness for Unpad,” said Prof. Yanyan.

Unpad Nyeni aims to support staff, lecturers, and students in becoming healthier, happier, and more prosperous. Prof. Yanyan highligted that, in addition to promoting health through Unpad Bergerak (Unpad in Action), Unpad Nyeni seeks to enhance the prosperity of the Unpad academic community and foster an appreciation for the arts.

In his report, the Coordinator of Unpad Nyeni, Prof. Dr. Atwar Bajari, Drs., M.Si., said that Unpad Nyeni will run for three days, from September 2nd to 5th, and will include activities such as International Day, Cooking Demonstrations, and Art Competitions.

There are also 29 booths at the bazaar, coordinated by the Secretary of the Directorate of Innovation and Corporate Affairs, Aji Sasongko, M.Si. The International Day featured 16 countries, including China, Tanzania, East Timor, Germany, Japan, and Korea. International students showcased performances from their respective countries and provided traditional foods for visitors to sample for free.

“In this event, Unpad’s Anniversary involves as many students as possible, especially international students,” said Prof. Atwar.

Prof. Atwar reported that 632 people registered for the Unpad Nyeni competition, and the committee has evaluated participants across categories including the Kamonesan Competition, Solo Singing (student category), Solo Singing (lecturers, staff, and alumni category), Vocal Group, and TikTok Competition.

“Hopefully, this involvement will demonstrate that we are happier, healthier, and more prosperous. I believe that the more we engage, the happier we will be,” said Prof. Atwar.

One participant in Unpad Nyeni, Jannick, a German student from the Faculty of Economics and Business, expressed his excitement about the international performances, as he had never experienced anything like this before.

“I am very impressed to see all the different cultures. For me, this is something new,” Jannick said in an interview with the Unpad Media Channel.
