[Unpad Media Channel] Universitas Padjadjaran has been chosen by the Central Information Commission (abbreviated as KIP) as a reference for a benchmark study in the National Education and Literacy Forum aimed at enhancing understanding and implementation of public information disclosure. The event was held in the Joint Meeting Room of the Livin Building, Unpad Rectorate, Jatinangor, on Friday, September 6, 2024.

The visit was welcomed by Dandi Supriadi, M.A., (SUT), Ph.D., Head of Public Communication Office at Unpad, Marlia, S.Sos., the Public Information and Documentation Management Officer (abbreviated as PPID) at Unpad, and Elin Herlina, S.Sos., Coordinator of the Integrated Service Unit (abbreviated as ULT) at Unpad. Eight universities participated in the study, including the Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat, Institut Seni Budaya Indonesia Bandung, Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji, Institut Teknologi Kalimantan, Universitas Trunojoyo Madura, IAIN Kediri, and UIN Raden Fatah Palembang

“Might be able to share what’s available at Unpad regarding public information,” said Samrotunnajah Ismail, Commissioner for Advocacy, Socialization, and Education at the Central Information Commission.

Dandi explained that Unpad has implemented seven innovations in PPID, including the development of information service facilities, establishment of an ULT, document, and data management, integrated public information services that are disability-friendly, formation of ULT at the faculty level, strengthening PPID implementation at faculties, and the development of Personal Data Protection (PDP).

“At Unpad, PPID is operated by the Public Communication Office, with support from the IT team of the Directorate of Planning and Information Systems (abbreviated as DPSI),” Dandi clarified.

Regarding access to information, all members of the Unpad academic community—students, staff, and lecturers—have accounts in the Integrated Administration Information System (abbreviated as SIAT) and can access their respective accounts. However, lecturers do not have the authority to access students’ personal data, which is protected under the Rector’s regulation safeguarding the personal data of the entire Unpad academic community.

“There are indeed certain things that cannot be accessed, such as students’ personal data, as it is personal information,” Dandi explained.

He also mentioned that Unpad is currently working towards establishing PPID in each faculty. An application is being developed as a platform for communication with PPID in each faculty.

“We (Unpad) are conducting internal roadshows to align perceptions regarding PPID. Therefore, the development related to PPID involves various Units at Unpad,” Dandi added. (SA)*
