[Unpad Media Channel] Universitas Padjadjaran, in collaboration with the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), Vietnam, and Universitas Udayana, held “The Joint Asian Conference on Business and Economics Studies: Conference on Diverse Business and Economic Topics in Asia” in Bali from August 28th to 30th, 2024. A total of 297 participants from 27 countries joined the conference to expand research opportunities, innovative practices, transformative ideas on a global scale, and other collaborative initiatives.
The conference aimed to develop and strengthen dialogue between junior and experienced researchers, policymakers, and practitioners, enhancing collective understanding of the role and function of business and economic studies in the regional context. This event was part of the implementation of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on academic and research collaboration among the three universities.
The joint conference combined elements from previous events, including the 8th Global Advanced Research on Management and Business Studies (GARCOMBS), the 6th Asian Conference on Business and Economics Studies (ACBES), and the 2nd International Conference on Economics and Business of Universitas Udayana (ICONICS).
The President of UEH Prof. Su Dinh Thanh, the Rector of Unpad Prof. Dr. Rina Indiastuti, and the Rector of Universitas Udayana Prof. Ir. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana, delivered the opening speech, emphasizing the key economic strengths and future challenges, as well as the importance of global partnerships and collaboration in finding joint solutions to challenges in the era of disruption.
The conference featured experts providing diverse perspectives and expertise, including Prof. Subal C. Kumbhakar from Binghamton University, USA; Prof. Gabriel S. Lee from the University of Regensburg, Germany; Assoc. Prof. Dong Nguyen from Durham University, UK; Prof. Michelle Greenwood from Monash University, Australia; and Prof. Rebecca Thornton from Baylor University, USA. (SA)*
