[Unpad Media Channel] Alumni are the most vital pillars of a university, second only to its students. A strong university is often supported by strong alumni. Universitas Padjadjaran will continue to connect with its alumni, inviting them to contribute to enhancing the quality of education and assisting alumni in nation-building.
The Rector delivered this message during the “Universitas Padjadjaran Greets Alumni in Lampung” event held at Grand Mercure Lampung on Friday, November 15th, 2024. The event, supported by the Unpad Alumni Association of Lampung, was attended by notable figures, including the Chairman of the Provincial Legislative Council of Lampung, Ahmad Giri Akbar, SE., MBA., the Expert Staff to the Governor of Lampung in Economic, Finance, and Development Affairs, Ir. Zainal Abidin, MT., the Chairperson of the Unpad Alumni Association of Lampung, Prof. Dr. dr. Asep Sukohar, S.Ked., M.Kes., along with Unpad’s executive boards and alumni based in Lampung.
“Alumni’s feedback is invaluable to the university. We also aim to continue supporting our alumni. It would bring us great joy if you remain connected with and engaged with the university. Unpad is always ready to be a home for its alumni,” stated the Rector.
The Rector encouraged alumni to maintain a connection with their alma mater, inviting them to revisit the Bandung or Jatinangor campuses for discussions, learning, and collaboration.
“Unpad is ready to assist in research or support alumni in their professional endeavors, offering additional energy to contribute to nation-building,” said the Rector.
The Acting Governor of Lampung, Dr. Drs. Samsudin, SH., MH., M.Pd., through a speech delivered by Zainal Abidin, appreciated Unpad’s initiative to establish a robust alumni network beyond West Java, including alumni spread across Indonesia, particularly in Lampung.
“I appreciate the strong spirit of collaboration demonstrated by the Unpad Alumni Association in Lampung, engaging with the government, private sector, and society. This synergy is essential for accelerating Lampung’s development, enabling it to compete with other advanced provinces in Indonesia,” said Zainal Abidin.
During the event, various cooperation agreements were signed between Unpad and multiple stakeholders, including the DPRD of Lampung, Generasi Pesona Indonesia (GenPi) of Lampung, Payungi University, the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) of Lampung, RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek of Lampung Province, the Lampung branch of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi), Institut Teknologi Sumatera (Itera), Politeknik Negeri Lampung, Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia, Institut Informatika dan Bisnis Darmajaya, Zam Neuro Center, dan PT. Great Giant Pineapple.
The event also featured a talk show discussing topics such as alumni contributions, achievements in world university rankings, postgraduate pathways for alumni, and the Unpad Endowment Fund. Speakers included Prof. Rizky Abdulah, Prof. Diana Sari, Ir. Anas, Ph.D., Prof. Dr. dr. Asep Sukohar, S.Ked., M.Kes., and Dandi Supriadi, Ph.D., Head of Unpad’s Public Communication Office, who served as the host. (SA)*
