[Unpad Media Channel] The Professional Certification Institute (LSP) of Universitas Padjadjaran is preparing to add 45 new certification schemes, expanding from the 10 schemes currently available. This expansion aims to meet the certification needs of all study programs at Unpad.

“The addition of these schemes is necessary because the challenges in the job market will be much more intense in the future. Universities must equip their graduates to face the challenges of the business and industrial world,” said the Commissioner of the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP), Prof. Amilin, during his visit to the Rectorate Building of Unpad Jatinangor on Monday, January 20th, 2025.

During the visit, Prof. Amilin meets the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs at Unpad Prof. Zahrotur Rusyda Hinduan, S.Psi., MOP., Ph.D., the Director of Non-Degree Education at Unpad drg. Erli Sarilita, S.KG., M.Sc., Ph.D., the Head of Non-Degree and Professional Education Office at Unpad Dr. dr. Insi Farisa Desy Arya, M.Si., and the Manager of LSP at Unpad Lani Gumilang, S.ST., M.M.

According to Prof. Amilin, adding certification schemes is expected to address the needs of universities in preparing competent graduates for the business and industrial sectors.

“I learned that the process of adding these schemes is already in the revision stage. Once the revisions and improvements are complete, the schemes will undergo an approval process. The approval of these schemes will then need to be brought before the BNSP plenary session,” explained Prof. Amilin, who is also a professor at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

He further elaborated that the number of LSPs in Indonesia, particularly those in universities, is still relatively small. Out of thousands of campuses in Indonesia, the number of LSPs has yet to reach 200.

“As one of the major state universities with its own LSP, Unpad is expected to serve as a role model for university-based LSPs across Indonesia,” he concluded.
