Unpad Strengthens Media Relations Through Journalist Gathering

[Unpad Media Channel] The executive boards of Universitas Padjadjaran holds a social gathering with a number of journalists during a media gathering event that includes a discussion and iftar (breaking of the fast) together. The event that is held at the UTC Dago Hotel, Bandung, on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025, is aimed to to strengthen the relationship between Unpad and members of the press, as well as providing a forum to share updates on the university’s latest programs and accomplishments.

“Unpad wants to build a closer relationship with the media as part of its vision to become more inclusive, that means to provide broader access for the public to get to know and benefit from Unpad. The media plays a key role in realizing this vision,” said the Rector of Unpad, Prof. Arief. S. Kartasasmita, in his opening speech.

On this occasion, also in attendance are the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Zahrotur Rusyda Hinduan, S.Psi., MOP., Ph.D., the Vice-Rector for Planning, Digital Transformation, Finances, and Business Management Prof. Dr. Maman Setiawan, S.E., M.T., the Vice-Rector for Research, Collaboration, and Marketing Prof. Rizky Abdulah, S.Si., Apt., Ph.D., the Vice-Rector for Resouces and Management Prof. Dr. R. Widya Setiabudi Sumadinata, S.Si., S.IP., MT., M.Han., the Head of Strategic Development and University Reputation Unit Mohamad Fahmi, S.E., M.T., Ph.D., and the representatives of journalists from various mass media.

The Rector of Unpad, along with other executive boards, discuss about various strategic programs that are currently being implemented and planned for the next five years. These include the development of inclusive education, collaboration with various stakeholders, and the enhancement of impactful innovation and research for the benefit of society.

Moreover, a Q&A session is also held, providing an opportunity for journalists to engage directly with Unpad’s executive boards on various current issues, including student admission policies, scholarship programs, and Unpad’s efforts to strengthen the role of academics in national development.

The Rector of Unpad emphasized that Unpad is always open to discuss with the media, as long as under the national and academic rules. The communication between Unpad and the press is hoped to develop in a positive, open, and inclusive manner, without boundaries. Therefore, Unpad intends hold regular monthly meetings with the media to engage in discussions grounded in its academic expertise and to address various societal issues.

“In the future, we (Unpad) hopes that the communication between Unpad and the media can be grown based on openness, without barriers, and with sincerity,” hoped the Rector.

With a good communication and collaboration with the media, Unpad hopes that its ideas, innovations, and contributions will have a real and meaningful impact on society. Furthermore, Unpad is open to constructive criticism and suggestions as part of efforts to improve and develop the institution. Through strong collaboration with the media, information on education, research, and academic contributions is expected to reach a wider audience and deliver greater impact to the community.
