[Unpad Media Channel] Universitas Padjadjaran has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing digital learning by providing LinkedIn Learning access to students across all study programs. This initiative is officially introduced during the LinkedIn Learning Optimization Workshop held at the Livin’ Room, 2nd Floor of the Unpad Rectorate Building in Jatinangor on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025.
The workshop aims to equip undergraduate and applied bachelor’s students in their final semesters with tools to compete in the global job market, while also supporting postgraduate students in their academic and research development.
“LinkedIn Learning offers an international-scale platform with a wide range of relevant topics that can be utilized by all academic members, especially students,” said Prof. Zahrotur Rusyda Hinduan, S.Psi., MOP., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs at Unpad.
The use of LinkedIn Learning is considered highly relevant for the entire academic community, especially students. The platform serves as a valuable tool to help students obtain relevant certifications. Additionally, LinkedIn Learning supports the tracking of student engagement in extracurricular activities and community service programs.
During the workshop, LinkedIn Account Director Marsel Mauricius highlights the platform’s flexibility and broad applicability. He emphasizes that LinkedIn Learning is not only a rich source of knowledge, but also a source of inspiration and professional development.
“What matters is how we can guide students in the right direction with the skills they need. The challenge today is that the jobs they will pursue may not yet exist. As an institution, we must anticipate and navigate this new landscape together,” said Marsel.
As part of this year’s policy, Unpad will provide LinkedIn Learning access to all students in the final four semesters of undergraduate and applied undergraduate programs, as well as to all postgraduate students. This decision is based on the growing need for career readiness among senior students, and the platform’s potential to support advanced academic and research skills at the graduate level.
Drg. Erli Sarilita, S.KG., M.Sc., Ph.D., Director of Non-Degree Education at Unpad, notes that students already have access to LinkedIn Learning accounts. The workshop also serves as a platform for study program leaders and lecturers to discuss strategies for optimal integration of the platform into learning activities.
“Program heads and lecturers are encouraged to discuss how to use LinkedIn Learning effectively and how to motivate students to take advantage of it. The goal is for students to gain additional skills beyond their core curriculum, ultimately speeding up their transition into the workforce,” said Dr. Erli.
This initiative represents a strategic step for Unpad in producing graduates who are competent and competitive in the global job market. Through LinkedIn Learning, students can gain relevant, industry-aligned skills while also broadening their perspectives and enhancing their competencies in a more flexible manner.
