[Unpad Media Channel] Universitas Padjadjaran has made a remarkable leap in the Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings (QS WUR) 2026, rising to the 515th position globally as announced on Thursday, June 19, 2025. Nationally, Unpad retains its position at 7th place. Compared to last year’s ranking of 596th globally, Unpad climbed 81 places, marking the highest jump among the top seven Indonesian universities listed this year.

“Yesterday, Unpad received international recognition from the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, and today we are honored once again through the QS WUR. Unpad has made a significant leap to 515th in the world. This confirms that we are on the right track toward our 2029 target of entering the global top 300,” said the Rector of Unpad, Prof. Arief S. Kartasasmita.

The Rector emphasized that while this international recognition is a moment to be grateful for, what matters more is Unpad’s unwavering commitment to its core values, these are excellence, inclusivity, and impact. Unpad’s achievements must resonate meaningfully both within the institution and across broader society.

“My deepest gratitude goes to all Unpad stakeholders, the Board of Trustees, faculty members, students, staff, alumni, and partners, who have worked tirelessly and collaboratively to improve the university’s quality. Let us continue to work together to achieve our targets and uphold our commitment to societal benefit,” concluded Prof. Arief.

The top seven Indonesian universities in this year’s QS WUR rankings remain unchanged in order from the previous year. However, all have shown an improvement in their global positions, with Unpad achieving the largest leap, an impressive 81 places. Universitas Indonesia maintains its national lead, ranking 189th globally.
