[Unpad Media Channel] Vocational School of Universitas Padjadjaran has demonstrated its commitment to preparing globally competitive and future-ready graduates by organizing the Strategic Forum & Industry Immersion Training Program titled “Artificial Intelligence for Sustainability,” held from June 16th to 27th, 2025. This international-scale program combined panel discussions, public lectures, internships, and certification sessions aimed at promoting the use of AI technology in advancing sustainable development.

The Dean of Vocational School at Unpad, Dr. Kurniawan Saefullah, S.T., M.Ec.Ec., emphasized that this initiative aligns with Unpad’s mission to strengthen synergy between academia and industry in producing adaptive and innovative human resources. Graduates of the Vocational School are expected not only to master technology but also to contribute to sustainable innovation.

“We are committed to preparing graduates who are not only proficient in cutting-edge technologies such as AI but who also understand the importance of sustainability and innovation for national advancement,” said Dr. Kurniawan.

This program is the result of international collaboration between Universitas Padjadjaran, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, and King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, supported by industry partners such as Bobobox Indonesia, Chickin, and Future Ready Academy. Participants from various countries joined the program, enriching its multicultural atmosphere and expanding global networks for all attendees.

Throughout the program, participants were exposed to comprehensive insights on the strategic role of AI in future life and industry. Key topics included the future of AI and its impact on job opportunities, strategies for building socially impactful businesses, balancing profitability with sustainability, and smart architecture concepts for sustainable development.

The program also introduced the importance of vocational thinking in shaping the future workforce ecosystem and showcased how innovations, like those implemented by Chickin, can leverage technology to promote sustainability in the food sector. Participants had the opportunity to attend talent and tech-based entrepreneurship development sessions, and pursue internationally recognized AI & Robotics certification through the Carnegie Mellon Academy.

The program concluded with an Industry Immersion Training session, offering participants hands-on experience with partner industries, followed by evaluations from a panel of professional judges. Through this initiative, Unpad reinforces its role as an innovation-driven university focused not only on academic development but also on fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration, developing global talent, and contributing meaningfully to sustainable development.
