[Unpad Media Channel] Lips are a sensitive area with thinner skin than other areas, making it naturally prone to dryness and dark pigmentation due to environmental exposure.

In addition, other factors, such as vitamin and mineral deficiencies and excessive exposure to UV rays, particularly in tropical countries, worsen these conditions.

To address this situation, a team of Universitas Padjadjaran students has developed a lip sleeping mask made from organic materials. The primary motivation behind this product is the limited availability of local lip care products in Indonesia.

Redi Regia Pratama, Nur Syahira, Rizka Mulyani, Sarah Qanita Az-Zahra, and M. Ath-Thariq Pratama developed the lip sleeping mask. Mollyps Lip Sleeping Mask is a product of the Student Creativity Program—Entrepreneurship (Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa Kewirausahaan or PKM-K), which successfully obtained funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Research and Technology.

During its development, the team used moringa leaf, a local plant in Indonesia, as the base ingredient. The vitamins and antioxidants in moringa leaves moisturize and brighten the skin of the lips.

Furthermore, the team also used tangerine oil, candelilla wax, shea butter, and almond oil. By using local ingredients, this product not only treats the problem of dry lips but also supports the optimal utilization of Indonesia’s natural resources.

“Therefore, this product not only encourages beauty but also plays a role in environmental sustainability, reflecting a commitment to natural cosmetic products from Indonesia,” said Redi. (arm/SA)*
