[Unpad Media Channel] The Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Padjadjaran has signed three cooperation agreements with PT Indomarco Prismatama, also known as Indomaret, and farmers’ groups to implement a community economic development and empowerment program at the Faculty of Agriculture building in Jatinangor on Thursday, September 12th, 2024. This collaboration represents a triple helix synergy between academia, industry, and the community for the advancement of the agricultural sector.
Dr. Meddy Rachmadi welcomed this collaborative effort, stating that it marks a positive initial step in the partnership between the Faculty of Agriculture and PT Indomarco Prismatama, as well as with supported farmers’ groups such as the Sapingi Cirebon Farmers Group and the Arjasari Palm Farmers Group. This partnership can serve as a platform for community service activities.
“Given the significant opportunities presented by the modern lifestyle trend favoring the consumption of fruits like papaya and melon, it is time for Faperta Unpad to assist and promote the development of local fruits within supported farmers’ groups. We are demonstrating Universitas Padjadjaran’s commitment to developing sustainable local agriculture based on innovation for community welfare. Limitless synergy for community service,” said Dr. Meddy.
Previously, Unpad, through the Faculty of Agriculture, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PT Indomarco Prismatama on February 29, 2024, at Unpad. This cooperation agreement is a follow-up to that memorandum.
Feki Oktavianus, the Microeconomics Executive Director of PT Indomarco Prismatama, expressed gratitude to the Faculty of Agriculture at Unpad for the realization of this cooperation. He stated that this also demonstrates Indomaret’s support in empowering and improving the welfare of local farmers.
“Thank you to Faperta Unpad for partnering in community empowerment efforts. With the full support of Faperta Unpad, we hope our partner farmers can increase their profits, thus enhancing their welfare. Indomaret is committed to supporting the marketing of products from our partner farmers through our retail network. May we all achieve success,” said Feki Oktavianus.
