[Unpad Media Channel] Eight members from Universitas Padjadjaran have been recognized in the World’s Top 2 Percent Scientist 2024 list, released by Stanford University and Elsevier on Monday, September 16th, 2024. Nationally, Unpad ranks in the Top 5 for the number of scientists included on this prestigious list, which evaluates scientists based on their publication volume and how frequently their research is cited globally. This year, 150 Indonesian scientists made the elite list.
“This achievement demonstrates Unpad’s impact in the fields of research, both nationally and internationally. Having our educators included among the world’s influential scientists aligns with our vision of making a global impact. The influence here means that our research is not only published as knowledge but also significantly contributes to scientific development,” stated the Acting Rector of Universitas Padjadjaran, Prof. Arief S. Kartasasmita.
Prof. Arief expressed hope that more Unpad faculty and researchers would join future lists and that Unpad’s research would continue to impact society positively.
The Unpad professors and students included in this year’s list are Prof. Muchtaridi, S.Si., Apt., M.Si., Ph.D. (Faculty of Pharmacy), Prof. Nasrul Wathoni, S.Si., Apt., M.Si., Ph.D. (Faculty of Pharmacy), Prof. Rizky Abdulah, S.Si., Apt., Ph.D. (Faculty of Pharmacy), Prof. Dr. Eng. I Made Joni, M.Sc. (Faculty of Science), Prof. Dr. Unang Supratman, MS (Faculty of Science), Qorinah Estiningtyas Sakilah Adnani, S.ST., M.Keb., Ph.D. (Faculty of Medicine), along with two Faculty of Medicine students, Ian Huang (Cardiology Specialist, graduated July 2022) and Raymond Pranata (Internal Medicine Specialist).
At the national level, Unpad ranks among the Top 5 universities and research institutions on the list, following Institut Teknologi Bandung (14 scientists), Universitas Indonesia (13), National Research and Innovation Agency (9), Universitas Padjadjaran (8), Universitas Diponegoro (8), Universitas Gadjah Mada (7), Universitas Airlangga (7), and Universitas Hasanuddin (6).
