[Unpad Media Channel] The International Association of Agricultural Students and Related Sciences (IAAS) Local Committee Universitas Padjadjaran has successfully organized the International Competition Program 2024, themed “Growing Dreams, Harvesting Visions: Cultivating the Future of Farming.” The event was held in hybrid at Unpad Jatinangor Campus from October 29th to November 1st, 2024.
This program is an extension of a similar initiative held in 2023, the International Summer Course. Introducing new innovations, the International Competition Program 2024 featured three main activities: the final round of the scientific writing competition, a field trip, and international conferences focused on agriculture and related sciences.
In its implementation, the scientific writing competition was held on both national and international scales, with the final round featuring six teams from various universities across Indonesia. The international-scale competition was won by the teams Just Try Try (Ganesha University of Education), TerraNova (Brawijaya University), and Farm-Connex (Lambung Mangkurat University). Furthermore, the national-scale competition was claimed by the teams ZINCAD (Bandung Institute of Technology), Bismillah Lulus 3.5 Tahun (Jember University), and Sekti Youth (Padjadjaran University).
In addition, an International Conference with the theme of agriculture and related sciences was held, featuring four speakers from four different countries: Dr. Noor Elliza (Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia), Dr. (Prof.) Sandeep Singh (Punjab Agricultural University, India), Associate Prof. Dr. Satoru Sato (Yamagata University, Japan), and Dika Supyandi, MDP. (Padjadjaran University, Indonesia).
This event was attended by over 100 participants, consisting of both international seminar attendees and presenters in parallel sessions. The International Competition Program 2024 is expected to serve as a platform for students to showcase their abilities in an academic celebration, fostering ambition to excel and sparking greater interest in agriculture and related fields.
Additionally, it aims to motivate students to innovate and compete in international-scale competitions. This event was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Asian Food and Agriculture Cooperation Initiative (AFACI), Al-Ma’soem Bandung Foundation, Bumi Agro Technology, Kojo Garmen, and Rumah Makan Tahu Sumedang Sari Kedelai.
