[Unpad Media Channel] The Marine Tourism Study Program of the Vocational School at Universitas Padjadjaran holds the annual Marine Tourism Festival (MTF) 3.0 at Graha Sanusi Hardjadinata, Unpad, Bandung, on Thursday, December 5th, 2024. Under the theme “Explore the Wonderful Marine Tourism Indonesia,” the festival served as an inspirational platform to showcase ideas, creativity, and innovations from students, academics, and industry partners to collectively promote sustainable marine tourism.
The event was inaugurated by the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences at Unpad, Prof. Dr. Sc. Agr. Yudi Nurul Ihsan, S.Pi., M.Si. A key highlight of the festival was the launch of the Teaching Factory (TeFa) PARI TREND, officiated by Prof. Dr. Tomy Perdana, S.P., M.M., the Director of Cooperation and Alumni Partnerships at Unpad, alongside Dr. Risna Resnawaty, M.P., the Vice Dean of the Vocational School, and Dr. Atikah Nurhayati, S.P., M.P., the Head of the Marine Tourism Study Program.
The Teaching Factory represents a transformative step for the Marine Tourism Program under the Vocational School’s framework, emphasizing practice-based learning. The initiative integrates Indonesia’s marine beauty with innovations across three primary sectors: Marine Spot Tourism and Ecotourism, Marine Hospitality Industry, and Marine Creative Economic Industry.
Wahyuniar Pamungkas, S.E., M.E.P., the Chair of the Teaching Factory, explained that the approach enhances practical education by merging natural marine wonders with industrial advancements. Moreover, Dr. Atikah Nurhayati added that PARI TREND aims to support skill development among youth while providing immersive experiences in Indonesia’s maritime sector.
The event also included the signing of cooperation agreements between the Marine Tourism Study Program and strategic partners such as Wisata Sekolah, Smiling Coral Indonesia, Mahat Masagi Unpad, and Seadoo Safari Jakarta. These collaborations focus on fostering tourism product innovation, promoting local wisdom-based destination management, empowering coastal communities, and enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s marine tourism globally.
