Duty and Function

Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) has duties and functions based on the mandate of the Tri Pillars of Higher Education, as stated in the applicable laws and regulations, specifically in Chapter III, Article 8 of the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 51 of 2015 on the Statute of Universitas Padjadjaran and Chapter II, Article 2 of the Rector’s Regulation of Universitas Padjadjaran Number 1 of 2020 on the Organizational Structure and Work Procedures of Universitas Padjadjaran Management.

The following are the descriptions of Unpad’s duties and functions in accordance with the mandate of the Tri Pillars of Higher Education:

1. Education

  • Organizing Education: Unpad has the main task of providing high-quality higher education, including undergraduate programs, master’s programs, and doctoral programs across various disciplines.
  • Curriculum Development: Unpad designs and develops a relevant and comprehensive educational curriculum in accordance with developments in science and technology.
  • Improving the Quality of Education: Unpad is responsible for improving the quality of the education and learning process, including teaching methods, teaching materials and evaluation.

2. Research

  • Conducting Scientific Research: Unpad must actively engage in conducting scientific research across various fields to produce new knowledge, innovations, and contributions to the development of science and technology.
  • Research Development: Unpad designs and implements research programs, both independent and collaborative, to enhance research capabilities and competitiveness.

3. Community Service

  • Serving the Community: Unpad plays a role in providing community service by applying knowledge and technology to solve social, economic, and environmental problems.
  • Knowledge Dissemination: Unpad shares relevant knowledge and information to the community to improve quality of life and well-being.

In addition to the mandate of the Tri Pillars of Higher Education, Unpad also has responsibilities related to administration, resource management, governance, and other internal policies as regulated by university regulations and applicable laws and regulations in Indonesia.

Therefore, Unpad has the primary duties and functions to provide quality education, conduct relevant scientific research, and provide community service in accordance with the mandate of the Tri Pillars of Higher Education and applicable laws and regulations.
