Merpati Putih is a student activity unit specializing in Pencak Silat, a traditional martial art originating from Yogyakarta. In addition to learning the basics of martial arts, members of UKM Merpati Putih also study breath control techniques, which are a distinctive feature of Merpati Putih Silat. Other activities include the Training Center, which is intended for silat athletes as a place to win a competition in tournaments. UKM Merpati Putih was officially recognized as a student organization following the issuance of the Rector’s Decree No. 159/JO6.4/KM/O/1996 on March 25, 1996.
Achievements in the last five years:
- Won 2 bronze medals and 2 silver medals in the 2024 UIN Sunan Kalijaga Cup championship
- Won 3 silver medals in the 2024 Sumedang Challenge championship
- Won 3 bronze medals in the 2023 Bekasi Premiere Pencak Silat Tournament
- Won 8 championship titles in the 2022 Legendary Land Pencak Silat Championship
- Won 2 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 7 bronze medals in the 2021 Bandung Lautan Api Championship
