Unpad Cooperates with Northen Illinois University of the United States of America

[Unpad.ac.id, 04/29/2014] In order to cooperate more closely, Unpad do signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Northern Illinois University (NIU), Dekalb, Illinois, United States of America, Tuesday (29/04)  at the Executive Lounge second Building Campus Iwa Koesoemasoemantri Bandung.

The signing was done by Unpad vice-rector in the field of research, community service, and cooperation. Dr. med. Setiawan, dr., With Dr. Paul Pabhaker from Associate Vice President for International Alliances  witnessed by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Unpad, Nury Effendi, Ph.D., and the Head of Unit and Cooperation, Anne Nurbaiti, PhD.

According to Drs. Setiawan, there are some based collaboration offered by Unpad to NIU, namely the joint research, joint supervision for Masters and PhD programs, faculty Exchanged, joint seminar / publication and article review, as well as the Double Degree program. While there are 5 pillars of research offered by Unpad, namely food security, health, renewable energy, environment, and policy-information-culture.

“We can work together effectively if our cooperation is based on it. Maybe we can discuss it for a couple of days here, about what and how, so that we can do it together, “said Dr. Setiawan.

In addition to the offer, Dr. Setiawan is also presenting  about  roadmap strategic plan Unpad to the World Class University as well as the data of  International Cooperation Research which is conducted in 2013. “From the international research collaboration, we will also get a lot of foreign grants,” he added.

Dr. Paul also appreciates the presentation. According to him, the cooperation between Unpad and  NIU in the future will not only limited in joint research, but also in other based collaboration, such as double-degree and student exchange. Dr. Paul, the Dean of the College of Business NIU has also been doing exploratory cooperation with the FEB Unpad.

“I am very happy, and in accordance with the presentation of Dr. Setiawan, we will discuss immediately to the idea of cooperation in the future, “said Dr. Paul.

Meanwhile, Anne Nurbaity conveys, this cooperation is a follow up of the acquisition of the Higher Education Grants Facilitation of International Cooperation (BFKSI) in 2013 which is implemented by the accounting course of FEB Unpad.

Related with the assessment of cooperation with the department of Accounting FEB Unpad, Anne added,  in last February, Unpad  has conducted a double degree program with NIU. “We’re going to start sending Unpad students to NIU next semester. From NIU will also send students in October later during the international accounting seminar, “said Anne. *
