[Unpad.ac.id, 24/02/2016] Six members of Commission X of Republic of Indonesia House of Representatives visited the campus of Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor on Wednesday (24/02). This work visit was conducted to discuss the three agenda: BOPTN, implementation of the scholarship program for faculty and students, and lecturers ranks at the four state universities in West Java, namely Universitas Padjadjaran, Universitas Siliwangi, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, and Institut Seni Budaya Indonesia.
During the visit, Deputy Chairman of Commission X of the House of Representatives, Ferdinand, SE., MM said that this visit was conducted in the context of the supervision function. “What we gathered would be main references for discussion with out partners, in particular Ministry of Research and Higher Education, “said Ferdinand.
These three related agenda, Ferdinand said, are important factors in world class university. “How could an institution that would be World Class University only have very few professors or higher-rank lecturer ranks? Or lower graduation outcome? “said Ferdinand.
From Universitas Padjadjaran in addition to the elaboration from Rector Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Arry Bainus, MA, Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and Information Systems, Arief Sjamsulaksan Kartasasmita, dr., SpM (K), Kes., PhD, Vice Rector for Research, Community Services, Cooperation, Innovation, and Enterprises, Dr. Keri Lestari, S.Si., M.Sc., Apt., Vice Rector for Governance and Resources, Dr. Sigid Suseno, SH., M. Hum, and Chairman of Academic Senate Prof. H. Oekan Soekotjo Abdoellah, MA., Ph.D were among the attendance.
University and faculty leaders, as well as student representatives Unpad, were also present. Moreover, this meeting was also attended by leaders of Universitas Siliwangi, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, and Institut Seni Budaya Indonesia.
The members of Commission X who were attending in addition to Ferdinand were Asdi Narang, SH, M.COMM.LAW, Junico BP Siahaan, SE, Dra. Hj. Popong Otje Djundjunan, Ir. H. Nuroji, and Ir. Ria Dwita Gunadi.*
