[Unpad.ac.id, 24/03/2016] Rector Universitas Padjadjaran, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, Vice Deans, leaders of the faculty, and student representatives met with a number of alumni in Studio NET TV, at Komplek Gedung Grha Mitra, Jakarta, on Wednesday (23/03). The meeting was held in order to improve relationship between the leadership, the academic community, with the alumni Unpad.
“Every year we conduct meetings with alumni and it is getting merrier every time. This excitement is because of the attitude of our togetherness, “said Rector at the opening speech.
On the event, Head of Unpad Alumni Association Dr. Sapta Nirwandar, S.E., Minister of Communication and Informatics Indonesia who are also the Chairman of Majelis Wali Amanah Unpad, Drs. Rudiantara, MBA., Minister of Empowernment of State Administrative and Bureaucracy Reform Indonesia Prof. Dr. Yuddy Chrisnandi, M.E., and Kuningan Regent Utje Hamid Suganda.
At the meeting the socialization event of the 9th National Conference and Universitas Padjadjaran Alumni Grand Reunion on April 16 to 17 in Complex SOR Bale Santika Unpad Campus Jatinangor was also discussed. Mubes and Reunion committee Chairman Akbar, Budi Cahyana, S.Si., M.Si., said that Mubes Ika Unpad would carry the theme “Hayu Ngahiji” (Let’s Become One), and would appoint Chairman for the period 2016-2020 replacing Dr. Nirwandar.
“This activity also becomes an important momentum since this would be our first time holding a reunion and congress in Jatinangor,” said Budi.
There are three candidates for the chairman of Ika Unpad: 1) Hikmat Kurnia, 2) Ahmad Doli Kurnia, and 3) Prof. Yuddy Chrisnandi, The list was based on the number draw conducted by the committee. This selection process was done by voting of each member of Ika Unpad.
This event would also hold a Job Fair that featuring 50 participating companies on April 16 to 17 and Workshop entitled “The Contribution and Strategic Role of Unpad in Indonesia Development” to be held on 16 April. “This workshop is expected to be Ika Unpad’s concern in facilitating and contributing ideas in order to promote Indonesia,” said Budi.
Sapta estimated number of alumni who would be attend the event would reach 10,000 people. “We ask for the help and support of the alumni for the success of this event,” said Sapta.
In relation to these activities, Rector Unpad was ready to support the implementation of the congress and Grand Reunion of Ika Unpad. One of the support was to facilitate free shuttles from Dipati Ukur to Jatinangor and vice versa during the event.
Rector hoped that implementation of Congress and Grand Reunion can generate ideas that could show Unpad’s contribution to society. “This is already visible when we sing Universitas Padjadjaran Hymn, when one of its verses shows that we are homeland builder and public servant of the nation,” said Rector.
After the gathering, Rector and other participants were also invited to participate in the live program “Ini Talkshow” recording on NET TV. On the occasion, Rector and Chairman of Ika Unpad became speakers of the program hosted by Sule and Andre Taulany.
