[Unpad.ac.id, 24/04/2016] Hikmat Kurnia was appointed as Chairman of Alumni Universitas Padjadjaran for year 2016-2020. This appointment was announced during the continuation of Council Meeting IX Ika Unpad at Alumni Building Bumi Padjadjaran, Jalan Singaperbangsa No. 1, Bandung, Saturday (23/04).
Hikmat was decided as Chairman after discussion with the other two candidates of Chairman of Ika Unpad, Ahmad Doli Kurnia and Yuddy Chrisnandi. In the meeting official letter from Yuddy Chrisnandi and statement from Ahmad Doli Kurnia was announced, in response to Hikmat Kurnia’s appointment as Chairman of Ika Unpad .
In response to the decision, Rector Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad expressed his appreciation for Hikmat appointment as Chairman of Ika Unpad. “This result thankfully became a milestone so that Ika could rerun its organization function,” said Rector when on Sunday (24/04).
Strengthening Ika Unpad, said Rector, could boost Pentahelix strategy initiated by Unpad. The role of the alumni in Pentahelix were in five elements, namely academia, government, business, community, and media. Thus, Ika Unpad’s future would become an integral part in supporting Unpad to contribute to society.
“Hopefully it is no longer inward-looking, but output looking,” said Rector.
With strengthening society to contribution, Rector was optimistic that internal consolidation of Ika Unpad would also be getting stronger. The idea of “ngahiji” (become one) established Ika Unpad, said Rector, did not necessarily mean that alumni have not been unified, but it focused more on synergizing various potential to be transformed into benefit.
Rector again highlight Unpad role to focus on three major issues in this country, namely corruption, drugs, and terrorism. In this case, Universitas Padjadjaran is committed to focus on tackling corruption.
“For period Ika Unpad has agreed to contribute significantly in overcoming corruption. Various activities would be focused on the element, “said Rector.
In Unpad Statute as Legal Entity, Chairman of Ika Unpad ex-officio became a member of Board of Trustees (BoT). According to the regulations, the board chairman of the MWA would send Chairman of Ika Unpad documents to Ministry of Research and Technology and Higher Education to be set up as members MWA Unpad.
Hikmat Kurnia was an alumnus of History Program Faculty of Letters (now Faculty of Arts) class of 1986. He was born in Bandung, 23 September 1967 and works as CEO of Agro Media Group.*
