During her interview with PR Unpad (12/05), this woman from Belitang South Sumatera said that she did not expected to be the best graduate in Diploma program. Starting with her intention to graduate with GPA more than 3.5, Nisa worked very hard to complete her studies.

“Basically, I worked on the task at hand, without delaying,” said Nisa.

With the method and implementing her initial study goals, Nisa’s grade ranged from A and B. On April 6th, she graduated with a cum laude. Her final paper was “Process of Archive Dismantle in Regional Library and Archive Bureau West Java Province”.

Nisa chose the Archive Administration sub program. She believed that archive research is an important study in Indonesia because Indonesia now is lacking archivist resource to manage government document and archive. Many people have not considered most of the time archiving activity seriously.

“Archivist is not to be underestimated. If archive system in an organization has not been tidied that means the organization has not been run smoothly,” said the woman born in Serang, 14 Februari 1996.

According to Nisa, archivist resources held an important role in an institution. She believed if an organization does not have archivist, the archive process would be in disorder. This condition was also the cause of difficulty in bringing back Nusantara ancient manuscript from abroad to Indonesia. There has not been an optimalization in archiving.

She experienced the deficiency of archiving process within some agencies. During her internship in a government office, she found that their file management was still not optimal. This condition made her optimistic that current archivist does have an important role.

In addition to preparing to become an archivist, Nisa’s study was also applicable in everyday life. Accustomed to the accuracy and management, Nisa also applied the result of her learning activity.

Even with utmost focus in academic pursuit, Nisa was not necessarily passive in the student organization. The daughter of Drg. Wastan and Andawiyah, S.Ag., was also active in community organizations and DKM student at the campus mosque. Through the organization Nisa also gained knowledge, especially related to the field organization.

After graduation, Nisa would focus on continuing her study and work to be an archivist. She was reluctant to seek occupation that is not on the field. “My goal was to be an archivist. I’ve learned about being archivist. I would choose to become an archivist when I work in an office or agency,” said Nisa. *
