Unpad-BCE Follow-up, Data and Information Center of Excellence SOE To Be Established Soon

[Unpad.ac.id, 5/06/2016] As follow up to the opening of Universitas Padjadjaran – SOE Center of Excellence (BCE) in early May 2016, data and information center BCE will be established. This data and information center is a form of synergy between Universitas Padjadjaran, Ministry of SOEs, and a number of state-owned enterprises in Indonesia.

Professor of Faculty of Economics and Business Unpad and the initiator of Unpad BCE Prof. Dr. Hj. Ernie Tisnawati Sule, M.Si., said that this data and information center will support the activities of three BCE centers of activity, namely center of collaboration, center of learning, and center of study.

The Center of Collaboration will focus on synergy within SOE itself, between SOE and university, and among SOE, university, and Ministry of SOE. Meanwhile Center of Learning has three targets, of competency development , certification, and producing great leaders as future directors of SOE. Center of Study is the center of SOE research that will be conducted as part of Unpad research.

“The three centers are supported by SOE data and information center,” Said Prof. Ernie in Data Gathering Consolidation Forum held in PT. Telkom, Grha Merah Putih Building 6th Floor, Jln. Jenderal Gatot Subroto Kav. 52 Jakarta Selatan, Friday (3/06).

In correspond with Prof. Ernie, Co-Chair of the Committee BCE Universitas Padjadjaran, Muhammad Awaluddin said that data and information center became the basic foundation of these three centers. “Without the center, it would be powerless. Our work would be groundless All work needs to be based on the data,” he said.

Meanwhile, according to Rector Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, besides supporting the activities of the three centers, the data and information center will also be enriched by the products of three centers. “This will definitely be a mutual relationship,” he said.

Awaluddin also explained that the data and information center would be a single resource database of management system or data storage. This would be a great potential for resource efficiency of national nationally. At the time, the data in Indonesia are still sectorial in nature and are not integrated into a system.

“Hopefully, anyone who needs SOE data or conducts research on SOE will find the data there,” he said.

Ministry of SOE will own a data center to facilitate the decision making process. Meanwhile SOEs could be used the center for profiling and decision making for the advancement of SOE itself. For Unpad, the center could be used for research and knowledge sharing including sharing with other universities.

Director of Technology and Information System, Drs. Gatot Riwi., M.Si. said that in the preparation of the data center and this information, IT teams Unpad will prepare a database server, perform filtering and data analysis, results analysis, and create BCE portals. Implementation of data and information center is also fully supported by PT. Telkom, especially as a provider of ICT services such as network infrastructure platforms and dashboard reporting.
