Dr. M. Rahim Kamaluddin from UKM as Criminology Guest Lecturer at Faculty of Psychology Unpad

[Unpad.ac.id, 20/06/2016]Dr. Mohammad Rahim Kamaluddin, lecturer from School of Psychology and Human Development, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) became guest lecturer at Faculty of Psychology Unpad, starting Wednesday (8/06) until Friday (10/06). As an expert in Criminology, Victimology, Criminal Psychological Profiling, and Community Crime Prevention, he became guest lecturer for Criminology elective course.

On the first day, Dr. Rahim gave lectures for 50 students of Bachelor of Criminology MKPP class of 2013. Lectures was conducted in English, discussing Victimology, a study of the origins, consequences, and the judicial system, as well as other elements in society related to victims of crime.

The next day, Dr. Rahim also gave General Lecture on the theme of “Introduction to Crime and Criminology” for undergraduate and graduate students. Several lecturers also attended this public lecture. The event was opened by Dean of Faculty of Psychology Unpad, Dr. Hendriati Agustiani, M.Si., and was attended by 100 participants.

Later in the day, he returned for the second session of the Criminology class. Even if he was fasting, he was still enthusiastic. “The challenge this time around is to not let them drowse away during class,” he said on his way to class.

Sure enough, he started a class by greeting using teenage slang and elicit spontaneous laughter from students. Class ended with administration tasks. Dr. Rahim asked the students to search for one criminal case and conduct analysis based on the material he had to say.

rahim-psikologi3rahim-psikologi2On the third day, he presented the material of “Scientific Article Writing in International Journal” in the Hall of Magister, BPIP Jl. Ir. H. Juanda 438 B. Doctoral students and several lecturers attended the class. On the occasion, Dr. Rahim explained the step by step of writing articles in order to qualify for the International Journal. He also expressed some tricks to create interesting writing and attracting reviewers. Lecturers and students were very enthusiastic and asked few questions in relation to the quality of writing scientific articles.

The class ended with ceritificate ceremony and giving souvenirs by Kaprodi Dr. Anissa Lestari Kadiyono, as well as a photo session.*
