[Unpad.ac.id, 1/08/2016] University of Padjadjaran hymn composer, Iwan Abdurrahman, invited academic community to re-interpret the Unpad Hymn as a life norm. He believed that it is a representation of predecessors hymns Unpad who have dedicated themselves to the interests of many people
“The hymn is not just words created out of thin air. Similarly, the PIP Unpad ‘Bina Mulia Hukum dan Lingkungan Hidup’, the statement was born from self determination predecessors of Unpad,” said Iwan in the event of Transformative Curriculum Development Universitas Padjadjaran in Situ Lembang, West Bandung Regency, Saturday (30/07).
This event was a continuation of Transformative Curriculum Workshop Unpad held last June. The event was followed by university and faculty leadership, learning and student affairs managers, heads of study programs, staff, and representatives of student organizations.
Amid the forests of Situ Lembang, Abah Iwan invited participants to reminisce how Hymn Padjadjaran was born. Abah Iwan shared the story that 46 years ago, in the middle of the forest, Hymn of Padjadjaran was born.
“The hymn is not fiction. It was the song of the trees in this place and the life it gives for the benefit of us all,” said Abah Iwan.
The devotion spirit that has waged the Unpad precursor must be maintained and passed on by the academic community at this time. Abah said that Unpad through its various Tridharma activities must become the hope, especially for the people of West Java.
It certainly must exist within the academic community. Abah Iwan said, if the academic community only thought about himself, the spirit that will never exist. “Presented with advanced Unpad is easy. But when it is our task to gain advancement, it’s an honor that is not possessed by the other, “said Abah Iwan.
On the occasion, Abah Iwan told stories while also performed his composed songs in order to motivate the academic community Unpad. At the end of the story, Abah encouraged the academic community to build together to revive the “spirit” of Unpad.
“Unpad is united by something that is not just bring impromptu. Even when we were apart, different faculties, but we have the same spirit Unpad,” said Abah Iwan.
The same spirit of togetherness continued in the reign of Rector Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad. Through transformative learning patterns, Unpad is expected to meet the challenges of the nation changes.
“With unity, we will have great energy. It will provide power for to do something, not for the alma mater of course, but as a human being a public servant homeland builder of the nation, “said Rector.
Event was held in Situ Lembang and started by walking along 6 km. After the briefing, participants also discussed per faculty to develop the capacity of the faculty and the university. *
