[Unpad.ac.id, 11/10/2016] Indonesia has abundant marine potential, but the utilization is still very small. The challenge faced today was that utilization of existing resources in the sea is more difficult than that of the land.

“If you see Indonesia’s potential in the maritime field, we are still far away from the existing and exploited. Still a long way, “said Deputy for Infrastructure Coordinatino of Ministry for Maritime, Dr. Ir. Ridwan Jamaluddin, M.Sc., in Emtek Goes To Campus at Graha Sanusi Hardjadinata Universitas Padjadjaran in Bandung, Monday (10/10).
Dr. Ridwan also appreciated what has been done by MMAF in eradicating illegal fishing. After their efforts to combat illegal fishing on Indonesian waters, Dr. Ridwan confirmed that the next thing to be improved is by promoting the fishing industry. Fishery products also needed further processing to increase its value.
“After the efforts to combat illegal fishing, we promote the industry,” said Dr. Ridwan.
Meanwhile, Rector, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad said that one of the efforts made by Unpad was to utilize the potential of this country by increasing the strength of human resources. The students were encouraged to directly attend to the areas where they are needed.
“The potential of our country’s outstanding can be optimized with the power of human capital,” said Rector.
In the field of maritime, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) Unpad also has a strategic role. FPIK Unpad exists in addition to the development of science, as well as to meet the needs of national development. On the occasion, the launch of the Maritime Center Unpad was also carried out. According to the Rector, Maritime Center aims is to encourage the strengthening of maritime in Indonesia.
Emtek Goes to Campus
Met on the sidelines of the event, Emtek Goes to Campus Chief Executive, Universitas Padjadjaran, Dr. Sc. Agr. Yudi Nurul Ihsan, S.Pi., M.Si revealed that the event was held to provide motivation for students to know the world outside the campus.
“Providing insight to the student. So the students not only get knowledge in the classroom, anywhere. It could even see how what the conditions outside. With the Emtek Event Goes to Campus students gained greater insight than just learning in the classroom, “said Dr. Yudi.
Activities are held in cooperation of Emtek and Unpad presented the theme of maritime. In addition to presenting a number of speakers, this activity also displayed a number of products related maritime Padjadjaran University.
In Emtek activity Goes to Campus, attended the Mayor of Bandung Ridwan Kamil providing inspiring exposure to students. On the occasion, Emil revealed that the world is now facing increasingly competitive, extreme, dangerous, and increasingly connected. Therefore, Emil also stressed not to lose the human side.
“If we become a winner, there are at least five values that you must have. You must be a man filled with kindness, you must become man who dared to take risks in the future, more and more extreme ones, you should have a will to translate the dreams you without giving up, you have to innovate because the world was won by innovative people, and you should be concerned to bring change, “said Emil.
In this increasingly competitive times, students also do not just rely on a high GPA, but other qualities within us also become more value in the face of competition. Soft skills become one of the important things that should be owned by every person. *
