“Patients with the disorder need support, because it’s useless when they have been treated in a psychiatric hospital and joined the community without any support,” Krishna said in an interview after the event.
Krishna explained that there are many survivors who feel inferior when returning to live in the community after medication in a mental hospital. This is due to the formation of the negative stigma associated with mental disorders and the lack of full support from the parties involved. Thus, vulnerable survivor disrupted again and underwent treatment in a mental hospital.
Recovery process, said Krishna, is not a treatment, but more on aspects of recovery and psychological support. This process requires the active involvement of family, friends, and community. “Recovery is a journey and a way of life where survivors of mental disorders so that they can adapt in society,” added Krishna.
Through these activities, Krishna hoped that people from different side can find out more related to the recovery process. With direct socialization to the community, this effort will be much more effective than socialize through the medium of seminars.
