[Unpad.ac.id, 1/12/2016] Chairperson of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), Yuliandre Darwis, met Rector of, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, in the Rectorate Room, Jalan Dipati Ukur No. 35, Bandung, Thursday (1/12). The meeting was part of the preliminary steps in Unpad cooperation related to the implementation of international seminar to be held KPI.

During the meeting, Rector was accompanied by Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs Unpad, Dr. Arry Bainus, M.A., and Director of Governance and Public Communications/Head of the International Office of Padjadjaran, Ade Kadarisman, S. Sos., M.T., M.Sc. Meanwhile, from KPI, also attending the Commissioner of KPI who is also Professor of Social and Political Science, Prof. Dr. Obsatar Sinagar, and Commissioner KPI, Ubaidilah.
Yuliandre said KPI is to host the international event entitled “The 5th Annual Meeting Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Forum (OIC IBRAF)” on 22 to 24 February 2017. In addition to the Chairman of KPI, Yuliandre is also the President of IBRAF. The planned activities held in Bandung will be attended by over 50 participants of IBRAF member countries. This activity is an international gathering of the member states IBRAF, Islamic organizations related to broadcasting.
In addition to the annual gathering event, Yuliandre planned to make this event as space dissemination of research results in the field of broadcasting. To that end, KPI has asked Universitas Padjadjaran to work together in supporting the implementation of these activities.
“We want this event is not merely ceremonial without academic feel. Strong content must exist. To that end, we would like to cooperate with Unpad, “said Yuliandre.
At the end of the event, Yuliandre said that there will Dasasila Broadcasting declaration signed by participants from various countries.
In response to the offer, the Rector is committed to support the event. He urged Unpad academics to contribute in disseminating a wide range of related research in these activities.
“We will help our project partner countries (event participants) who have communication science or related fields. We will invite them specifically, given its own academic uniqueness for the next year activity, “said Rector.
The next thing Rector wanted to highlight is Bandung. Rector offers assistance to heldo the international event the Gedung Merdeka and Jalan Asia Afrika. “Speaking of broadcasting, why not historical and contemporary aspects of Bandung at the same time,” said Rector. *
