[unpad.ac.id, 3/8/2018] Unpad is the coordinator of the organizer of the “2018 Harmony Indonesia” for the West Java Province. This national singing event will be held simultaneously in 34 provincial capitals in Indonesia on Sunday (5/8).
“This is the trust given to Unpad. The philosophy of this event is to build harmony of the nation,” said the Rector of Unpad, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, Thursday (2/8).
The grand concert “2018 Indonesian Harmony” is held to commemorate the 73rd Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia as well as welcoming the 2018 Asian Games where Indonesia hosted. The main location of the concert will be held at Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta and in the same time will be followed by mass choire groups from 34 major cities of Indonesia that consist of university/high school/pesantren students choire groups, local communities, provincial regional police and military commands (TNI/Polri), choir of government institutions, interfaith choirs, arts and cultural workers, and the wider community.
The event is the initiation of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, by delegating to the 34 rectors of the state-run universities nationwide as the local coordinators.
In this event, continued the Rector, Unpad will be coordinating institution that musters several government institutions, such as the Military Regional Command 3, Siliwangi, the West Java Regional Police, the West Java Provincial Government, and wider community. In Bandung, the event will be centered in the Cikapayang Park, Dago area.
All cities that organize activities will be connected with Jakarta through live streaming broadcasts. Held simultaneously at one time, at 08.20 WIT, 09.20 CIT, and 10.20 EIT, all participants from 34 cities will sing some national songs.
Guided by Conductor Addie M.S., all participants will together sing the song Indonesia Raya, Satu Nusa Satu Bangsa, Garuda Pancasila, Rayuan Pulau Kelapa, and Bagimu Negeri. In addition, the President Joko Widodo is planned to give a brief speech and greet the participants from several teleconferencing connections.
At the Bung Karno Stadium, this activity is targeted to be attended by approximately 30 thousand participants. While in all regions it is targeted to be attended by tens of thousands of participants. *
