[unpad.ac.id, 10/17/2018] Rector of Unpad Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad along with the Vice Rector and some Deans of Unpad conducted a visit to the construction site of new campus of Unpad at Pangandaran in Pasir Kadu Block, Gunung Tilu Hamlet, Cintaratu Village, Pangandaran Regency Monday (15/10).

The visit was carried out to see the progress of the first phase of the construction which includes an academic building covering 6,000 square meters, a student dormitory, a residence for lecturers and a mosque.
When visiting the construction site, the group was officially accepted by the Regent of Pangandaran H. Jeje Wiradinata. In the meeting, Jeje said, he was committed to support the construction as a form of improving the quality of human resources in the education sector.
The construction of the campus was carried out on an area of 33 hectares obtained by Unpad from a grant from the Pengandaran Regency Government. Based on the results of a study conducted by the Faculty of Geological Engineering, this land has a contour, tends to be hilly, and has several stone niches.
Based on the master plan and detail engineering design (DED), the campus area will be built around a stone niche area that has been designated as a campus green zone. This campus consists of academic zones and academic support zones.
Some of the buildings to be built include academic buildings, practicum rooms, centers for student activities, mosques, student dormitories, sports areas, lecturer dormitories, and public accommodation.
Located in the highlands, the campus area will also be supplemented by various open space facilities, such as parks, forest walks, and viewing post. The Rector said that the Unpad Pangandaran Campus will be characterized as a “beach campus” and utilize many open spaces. *
