[Unpad.ac.id, 21/11/2012] Another opportunity for students to take part in another exchange program is now open. Unpad has recently established partnership with Dhurakij Pundit University, Thailand. The two universities, represented by Unpad vice rector III, Dr. med. Setiawan, dr., the president of Dhurakij Pundit University president, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Varakorn Samakoses and the Vice President for Academic Affairs Dhurakij Pundit University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Somboonwan Satyarakwit, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Wednesday (21/12) in Gedung Rektorat Unpad, kampus Unpad Jatinangor, Rabu (21/11).

The head of Unpad International Affairs office, Anne Nurbaity, explained that the partnership was initiated by the faculty of economics and business (FEB) whose first step, together with Dhurakij Pundit University, Thailand and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, is arrangement of an international conference entitled “The Global Advanced Research Conference on Management and Business Studies” to be held on Thursday (22/12).
The exchange program is to be officially started in 2013 by delegating five students from FEB to study in Dhurakij Pundit University. “The first batch is going to be attended by students from FEB, but the following batches will be made available for other students from different faculties or departments such as FTIP, FMIPA, FIB,” said she.
In addition, the partnership will also include teacher exchange programs due to the fact that Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian Language) is now becoming a trend in Thailand. Unpad plans to send one lecturer to Dhurakij Pundit University, Thailand to teach Indonesian language.
