[Unpad.ac.id, 10/12/2012] Nursing (FIK) students organized CARE (Clever, Active, Carefree, and Energetic) for Children in a number of kindergartens, Early Childhood Education (PAUD), and Day Cares in Bandung and Jatinangor—PAUD Bocah Robbani Cinunuk, TK Bina Insani Cilengkrang, Ujung Berung, TK Generasi Mulia Tanjungsari, and Puspa Sehat.

The event began on Friday (30/11) in which teachers gathered for briefing in FIK campus in Jatinangor. On the same occasion, students were also introduced to their assigned venues prior to the field practive they were about to do four days in a row starting Monday (06/12).
Students were involved in learning aspects of children development and modality activities that can optimize their growth. They were assigned to teach students how to live healthily—starting from brushing teeth, washing hands, and studying. In the mean time, students assigned in Puspa Sehat Day Care learned how to take care of children under three years old. The event was concluded on Friday (7/12) in which the nursing students and the children gathered in Arboretum Unpad doing rewarding activities.
According to the Vice Dean of Student Affairs Faculty of Nursing Unpad, Hana Rizmadewi Agustina, the event, designed as a pilot project by the academic affairs and student affairs offices, was to introduce freshmen to a more detailed function of them as nursing students for the society at large. In addition, it was also to understand the profession of a nurse.
She added that in the future the event should not be limited to field practices in kindergartens, PAUD, or daycare. It would help the students prepare their mental state prior to going to the professional world.
Students admitted that the event offered them rewarding experience. Annisa Rizqonah said, “I learned a lot. I get the chance to train better my patience, creativity, and get rewarding experience. The only obstacle I faced was to direct the students for they loved playing so much,” said she.
