[Unpad.ac.id, 29/01/2013] Unpad has lost one of its best law school professors. Born on January 9, 74 years ago, Prof. Otje Salman Soemandiningrat passed away today, in Bandung at 7.25 in the morning. Last rite was held in the afternoon in the lobby of the Rectorate building in Jatinangor.
“Prof. Otje Salman has given beautiful colors to the development of law school in Unpad. With his excellent expertise in law sociology, he dedicated his life for this university. Last week, he still gave his time to examine one of his student dissertations,” said the rector.
Prof. Otje Salman had served as civil servant in Unpad since 1969. Being a very prolific writer, he produced a great number of textbooks, to name but a few Ikhtisar Filsafat Hukum (1987), Sosiologi Hukum Suatu Pengantar (1989), Kesadaran Hukum Masyarakat dalam Hukum Waris (1996), Mushaf Alquran Program Digital (1996), Eksistensi Hukum Adat dalam Perkembangan Masyarakat Global (1998), Hukum Waris Islam (2002).
Present in the last rite were colleagues, friends, and staff, beloved widow, Dr. Hj. Hendriati Agustiani, M.Si., and anak-anak almarhum.
