[Unpad.ac.id, 25/03/2013] Following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Unpad and Suez Canal University, Egypt, a talk on social and political conditions in the Arab world and on the prospects of pursuing graduate degrees in Egypt was organized in Bale Sawala Unpad Rectorate Building on Monday (25/03). In addition, it also included the history of the establishment of the Suez Canal University and programs for Indonesian studies that it is offering.
Suez Canal University was represented by Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman Al Qurbi (Vice Rector), Prof. Dr. Usamah Sayyed Ali (Dean of Faculty of Arts), and Prof. Dr. Hasan Abdul Alim Yusuf (Director of Indonesian Studies Center). Also present in the event was staff attaché for Education, Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, Cecep Taufikurrohman, MA.
Cooperation between the two universities will cover faculty and student exchange, joint advising for thesis and dissertation, and double degree program. “As of today, participating in the program are faculties and students from the Faculty of Arts (FIB) Unpad. Hopefully, in the near future, there will be more faculties and students from all majors involved in this,” said Taufikurrohman.
