[Unpad.ac.id, 23/06/2016] A total of 40 participants attended Mass Media Article Writing Training on Tuesday (21/06) at the Postgraduate Building Unpad, Jln. Dipati Ukur No 35 Bandung. This event was held by Student Affairs Division Graduate School Universitas Padjadjaran in collaboration with Graduate School Student Communication Forum (FKMSP).
The participants were students of the Graduate School of Unpad comprised of students from Doctoral Studies Program in Environmental Sciences, Master of Environmental Science, and a Masters in Biotechnology. The event was opened by Vice Dean I of the Graduate School, Dr. Jutti Levita.
In her opening speech, Dr. Jutti said that this activity was a form of IKK implementation in non-academic fields. Similar statement was expressed by Manager of Student Affairs and Alumni Relations, Dr. Yuli Andriani, S.Pi., MP who also actively writes on a variety of media. Dr. Yuli said that in addition to providing training for students, the event also would motivate students to write articles in the mass media as the output of this activity.
One of the speakers in the training was Prof. Johan Iskandar, MSc, PhD., lecturer in Department of Biology, who also teaches at the Graduate School of Unpad. On the occasion, he presented materials on “Tips and Tricks to Write an Article in the Mass Media”, in which Prof. Johan shared his experience in writing in the mass media. Since his student days, Prof. Johan has often written for various media such as Kompas, Pikiran Rakyat, Tribun Jabar, Lahan Basah magazine, and Mangle.
Also attending as speaker was Deputy Chief Editor of Pikiran Rakyat Daily, Erwin Kustiman. In front of the participants, Erwin presented material on how to write in the media that posts made can be published. *
