[Unpad.ac.id, 3/11/2016] In this year’s first session of Graduation Ceremony Universitas Padjadjaran Academic Year 2016/2017 which took place on November 1 to 3, Khairunisa Wulandari was named as valedictorian for Diploma Programme. Wulan, as Khairunisa usually called, graduated from Public Relations, Faculty of Communication Science, Universitas Padjadjaran.

“I didn’t expect this,” said Wulan when interviewed by Unpad PR after the graduation ceremony, Wednesday (2/11) afternoon. Wulan successfully completed her diploma program in 3 years, with the final project titled “Kegiatan Press Conference oleh PT. Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. di Jakarta” with GPA of 3.65.
Wulan admitted that she did not set any targets during her study. She tried to enjoy all the courses. Thus, she believed that it would be easier to absorb the knowledge and she would be able to finish all the assignments.
Her achievements were shown in her grades which mostly were As and Bs. Although she studied hard, Wulan also took advantage of her free time to be actively engaged in organizations, participate in events as members of committees, and do other academic activities as a student in general.
In Fikom Unpad, Wulan was active in the PR Student Association. By joining organizations, Wulan had gained a variety of experiences. In addition, she could practice all the knowledge learned in the classroom directly through the organizations.
“By being in an organization, we would understand people’s characteristics and know how to deal with each of them. We can also experience how to coordinate people,” said the graduate who was born in Jakarta, January 15, 1996.
Exploring the field of Public Relations, Wulan had made a provision to build a business. While the other graduates tended to set a goal looking for a work, the girl from Cileungsi, Bogor, chose to start her own enterprise. Her initial step was to help promoting her family’s tutoring business.
“Since I study PR, I would apply what has been gained in college. Furthermore, I also want to try online shop business using online media strategy,” said the daughter of Herwina and Sutrisno Prasodjo. According to Wulan, opening her own business has its own challenges.*
