[unpad.ac.id, 01/03/2019] Unpad has new facilities to support academic activities regarding Korean culture. The facility called “Unpad Korean Language Center” was inaugurated by the Rector Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad in Unpad Central Library Building, Jatinangor, Wednesday (2/1).
“Korea is one of the world’s biggest economy, and speaking of the economy, culture is very important,” said the Rector.
This facility is also expected to be used by all Unpad academics, especially students. Not only learning Korean but Korean culture in general.
According to the Rector, many things can be learned from Korean culture. It’s not only Korean history but also the modern world of Korea such as the progress of the music industry to cosmetics.
“Hopefully what we have initiated encourages other developments in Unpad,” the Rector hoped.
This Center as a result of collaboration with the Indo-Korean Orthopedic Foundation (IKOF) which is expected can be developed to open network opportunities with various relations in Korea.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chair of IKOF Daniel Kim said that there would be many things to learn about Korea through the facility. In addition to language, Unpad academics can also learn about the development of Korean culture and Korea’s bilateral relations with Indonesia.
On this occasion, a Cooperation Agreement for the Construction of the Korean Study Center was signed by the Vice Rector for Research, Community Engagement, Cooperation, and Academic Corporations of Unpad, Dr. Keri Lestari, S.Si., M.Sc., Apt. with Deputy Chairperson IKOF Daniel Kim. *
