[Unpad.ac.id, 2/05/2013] Unpad recently received an award at the Telkom Smart Campus Award (TeSCA) 2013 for its success in index and ranking assessment as well as campus mapping based on the implementation level of information technology and communication in its academic processes.

“This award does not only belong to information technology developers but also to all Unpad faculties. Hopefully, it can encourage us even better to become more acquainted with information system that the university provides,” said Eddy Nurmanto, the head of DCistem Unpad, when interviewed at his office in the rectorate building on Thursday (2/05).

TeSCA 2013, organized by PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk., hosted 551 academic institutions statewide, consisting of 177 universities, 201, higher education institutions, 45 polytechnics, 29 institutes, and 99 academies. The top ten institutions receiving the awards last Wednesday (1/05) are:

  1. Universitas Indonesia with total score of 4878
  2. Universitas Gunadarma (4731)
  3. Institut Teknologi Bandung (4500)
  4. Universitas Padjadjaran (4370)
  5. Universitas Airlangga (4271)
  6. STMIK AMIKOM Yogyakarta (4271)
  7. Universitas Bina Nusantara (4223)
  8. Universitas Komputer Indonesia (4216)
  9. Universitas Gadjah Mada (4141)
  10. Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (4131).

 

TeSCA Indonesia ranks the institutions based on 10 domains, namely campus superstructure, technology insfrastructure, stakeholders profile, application implementation, national education strategy, impact and advantage of technology implementation, external communities, research, e-green (environmentally-friendly TIK), and academic innovation.

“This is an excellent input for Unpad, in particular its information technology development. We are fully aware that improvements on many levels still have to be done. This award gives us the very motivation to move forward and excel,” said Nurmanto.
