FTG comes as overall winner at Forsi Unpad 2013

[Unpad.ac.id, 21/10/2013] Faculty of Geology (FTG) for another time came as the overall winner at the Festival of Sports and Arts (Forsi) Unpad 2013. The contingent achieved 7 gold medals, 1 silver, and 4 bronze. The second place was Company Administration Department (PAAP) with 6 gold, and 2 bronze, followed by Faculty of Arts (FIB) in the third place with 4 gold, 3 silver, and 6 bronze.

Forsi 2013, held from September 2 to October 11, 2013, is part of a series of events for Unpad 56th Dies Natalis. This year’s theme is Autospace: Wow Funtastic Baby, and includes pre-event, opening, sports and arts competitions, Padjadjaran Talent, and Putra Putri Padjadjaran Pageant, and ended with closing ceremony.

In their release, it is mentioned that the pre-event of Forsi 2013 was held on September 2-4 at Unpad’s Old Gate, joined by 30 Unpad student communities, such as Dog Lovers, Parkour, and traditional culture communities. Each community showed their creativity at Creative Competition in which they have to come up with ideas using every day materials.

     

In the art division, the events included competitions such as painting, solo vocal, stand up comedy, VJ hunt, cabaret, fashion design, band performance, traditional dances (from Sundanese, Javanese, and Minangkabau), vocal group, short movie, flash mob, and photography.

The sport events consist of soccer, swimming, futsal, table tennis, badminton, chess, triathlon, rowing, basketball, volleyball, and card games (bridge, rummy, etc.). For the soccer game, not only the students competed for the title, but also lecturers and administrative staff took part in the event.

Putra Putri Padjadjaran, a pageant-like competition to choose one male student and one female student to represent talents in the university, consists of a series of selection processes including beauty class, public speaking workshop, and fashion show. Ardianto Wijaya Kusuma from Faculty of Communication and Indah Sundari Jayanti from Faculty of Psychology were named the male and female winners respectively. The crowning ceremony was organized at the same time as the closing ceremony of Forsi 2013 at Jati Padjadjaran Stadium Unpad, Jatinangor. It was also announced the winners of all competitions with music, night fair, and bazaar.
