[Unpad Media Channel] A total of nine scientists from Universitas Padjadjaran have been included in the World’s Top 2% Scientists list, released by Stanford University and Elsevier on Friday, September 19, 2025. They are among 209 Indonesian scientists from 72 institutions featured in the prestigious global ranking.

“The inclusion of Unpad scientists in this list demonstrates international recognition of their research contributions. This achievement aligns with Unpad’s vision of being an excellent, inclusive, and impactful university, where research not only enriches scientific knowledge but also provides tangible benefits to society,” said Rector of Unpad, Prof. Arief S. Kartasasmita.

The Rector further expressed hope that this milestone would inspire more high-quality research from Unpad’s academic community and strengthen collaborations with both national and international partners in addressing global challenges.

The World’s Top 2% Scientists list is based on an updated global scientific citation database that provides standardized information on the impact of researchers’ publications. The ranking takes into account several indicators, including citation counts, h-index, adjusted author contributions, authorship positions, and a composite score (c-score) that emphasizes research impact. The latest dataset, compiled from Scopus up to the end of 2024, includes researchers ranked within the top 100,000 worldwide or the top 2% in their respective fields, both across their careers and over the past year.

The nine Unpad scientists recognized are:
