[Unpad.ac.id, 29/01/2016] Rector Universitas Padjadjaran, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, inaugurated Dean and Vice Dean of Graduate School, Deputy Head of Quality Assurance Unit (SPM), and Head of Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) Universitas Unpad Press in Bale Atikan Unpad, Jln. Ir. H. Juanda (Dago) No. 4 Bandung, Friday (1/29).
During the occasion, Prof. Dr. Hendarmawan, MSc was inaugurated as Dean of Graduate School, Dr. Jutti Levita, M.Sc., Apt was inaugurated as Graduate School Vice Dean for Academic, Student Affairs, Innovation and Cooperation, and Drs. Mudiyati Rahmatunnisa, MA., Ph.D. was inaugurated as Graduate School Vice Dean for Planning, Information Systems, Governance, and Resources. Meanwhile, Drs. Yuyun Hidayat, MS was inaugurated as Deputy Head of the Quality Assurance Unit, and Dr. Drs. Gugun Gunardi, M.Hum as Head of Technical Implementation Unit Unpad Press.
“May Allah give guidance for you and us are all in this duty,” said Rector during the event.
In his speech, Rector said that Graduate School is a different nomenclature from the graduate programs run in various faculties. “Since this is a school, it would be managing various postgraduate courses, holding different aspect that is focused on courses with characteristics of multi or transdisciplinary,” said Rector.
Furthermore, Rector said that Graduate School is expected to be the frontrunner for strengthening implementation of Basic pattern Scientific Padjadjaran University. Thus, its study programs are expected to build up strength of the characterization of the PIP Unpad.
“The course that was built is expected to build strength of characterization of the alignments as we build environment. The alignments in building a wide range of regulatory or governance will encourage and contribute to national development as a whole,” said Rector.
In addition, courses in Graduate School should also have strong research strength. “Thus, good partnership is needed since research strength is the powerful vehicle to work with a range of courses. So that later in the future, we will focus on strengthening research earnestly in particular for multi and transdisciplinary, “said Rector.
Unpad also seeks to facilitate process of research publications to be able to run properly. One of them is by its publishing units in Unpad. This is inline with target Unpad that is to continue supporting international publications.
“Not only units that manage the publication but also how we facilitate the ability of all work units, of all academic staffs, to be able to express their academic abilities. Either in the form of writing a book, or in the form of writing various scientific publications, “said Rector.
Furthermore, excellence will be created if we are convinced that what we have done had already met superior quality standards. Thus, rector believes that Unpad Quality Assurance Unit is a very strategic position.
Rector emphasized that Unpad various academic activities must guarantee quality. Quality assurance must move towards excellence in order to create a variety of innovations. The innovation should be maintained in order to not deviate from the targets.
“Therefore, today, with the inauguration and the arrangement, hopefully in the future there are no more obstacles for us to be able to run smoothly,” said Rector. *
