[Unpad.ac.id, 19/08/2016] Rector Universitas Padjadjaran Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, inaugurated Faculty of Economy and Business (FEB) Unpad Building, Jatinangor, Friday (19/08). According to Rector, the presence of FEB Unpad in Jatinangor could strengthen the interknowledge synergy in Unpad.

“Although we can communicate with various parties anywhere that we can easily overcome the limitations of space and time, the physical attachment relationship is very important and the presence of our FEB friends physically in Jatinangor will provide extraordinary energy,” said Rector.
Encouraging the development of society, for example, is one indicator of strength of the economic sector. It will be difficult for Unpad to contribute more strongly, if there is no Faculty of Economics and Business as pillars of economics knowledge strength to be in Jatinangor along with other science faculties or forces that exist in Unpad.
“There must be something lacking. So hopefully with the presence of our friends here, last pillar will be more complete,” said Rector.
Rector also encourages FEB, along with also other faculties in Unpad, to be able to pay more attention to society especially around Jatinangor. With PIP owned, is expected togetherness Unpad can contribute in enhancing a better life for the society.
Similar message was delivered by the 7th Rector of Unpad, Prof. Dr. Yuyun Wirasasmita, M.Sc. He also hoped that the presence of FEB Unpad can contribute in supporting the Indonesian government’s program and also in line with the program being carried Unpad, particularly in terms of increased potential of the region. One of these suggestions is to create a village built in Jatinangor.
“Hopefully, FEB will not just to be here, but it can also be beneficial to all around,” said Prof. Yuyun.
The new campus is named LEAD Buildings FEB Unpad, which consists of four buildings, each of which is referred to as the building Lambda (L), Epsilon (E), Alpha (A), and Delta (D). In English, “lead” also means “be ahead”.
“Philosophically we expect the new building will be a place where students of FEB Unpad will build their capacity to be transformed into new leaders whose mandate and contribute to the community,” said Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Innovation and Cooperation FEB Unpad, Mohamad Fahmi, SE, MT, Ph.D.
This building was built in the mid 2014. With a floor space of 2,500 m2, the building consists of lecture rooms, office space, student activity room, a seminar room, and workspace for lecturers. *
