[Unpad.ac.id, 18/08/2016] Universitas Padjadjaran held gathering (open house) for parents of new students of bachelor Program Unpad, starting today, Thursday (18/08) to Saturday (20/02). The activities carried out in accordance with the schedule and locations that have been determined by each faculty.
“In the event of gathering (open house), we invite parents to know Unpad more closely and know how well the place where their son/daughter will undergo a process of education over the next few years. Suggestions and constructive criticism would gladly be received for the progress and success of the your children’s Unpad education,” said Rector, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad.
In his speech, Rector also said that the process of education in Unpad is not always in the campus. Currently, Unpad also implemented educational system called the extended open campus, where education is not only done on campus but also outside the campus. With this concept, Universitas Padjadjaran expected students to become agents of development that will take part in the community not only after they graduated from college, but since they studied in college.
“In this regard, starting from the new admissions period, Unpad students are not only encouraged to learn in an environment of campus, but also accompanied by the leadership of study program, lecturer, and also the student of class to get to know and understand the environment around the campus as an area of early focus, which will evolve into a larger area so that a student will be proud public servant builder country and nation, “said Rector.
This year, Unpad admitted 6,616 students for Bachelor degree (S1), consisted of 3,064 students from SNMPTN and 3,552 students from SBMPTN path. The number of applicants selected from 58,937 and 93,046 SNMPTN applicants who choose Unpad through SBMPTN path, with successful admission rate of 5.2% for Unpad in SNMPTN and about 3.8% of Unpad in SBMPTN. Unpad was stated as university with the highest admission competition across Indonesia during the last five years in a row.
“With respect, it is not an exaggeration to say that those who managed to enter Unpad is part of the best students from all over Indonesia,” said Rector.
Open House event also featured presentations from leaders of each faculty. The presentation included the introduction of the faculty, such as a brief profile of the faculty and the learning process that will be faced by students. *
