[Unpad.ac.id, 03/09/2016] Minister of Social Welfare Republic of Indonesia, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, expected the cooperation of universities in supporting the program of the Ministry of Social Welfare. Such cooperation is expected to support the achievement of the implementation of the program, namely improving the welfare of the Indonesian people, especially of the poor segments of society.

“The Ministry of Social Welfare needs for higher education role is absolute,” said Khofifah during the meeting with the Rector and a number of leaders of Universitas Padjadjaran, in Room Executive Lounge Unpad, Jalan Dipati Ukur No. 35, Bandung, Friday (02/09) night.
During the meeting, Khofifah was accompanied by some echelon I leaders in the Ministry of Social Welfare. From the Padjadjaran University, in addition to the Rector, also attending were Chairman of the Board Professor, Prof. Dr. Sutyastie Soemitro Remi, SE., MS., Chairman of the Council Working Group Padjadjaran University Professor, the university and faculty also attended by representatives of lecturers from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Social).
Khofifah explained that since 2015 the Ministry of Social Welfare has contributed in program implementation of 5,000 independent villages prepared by the Government. The program is coordinated through the Ministry for Human Development and Culture. Ministry of Social Welfare has contributed to prepare 100 Desa Mandiri Sejahtera (Independent Prosperous Village) with direct partnership with universities.
“Desa Mandiri Sejahtera was selected by universities, which appointed a village as location for Field Work Experience, or village that became the target of each university,” said Khofifah.
Through the program of Desa Sejahtera Mandiri, Ministry of Social Welfare supported the preparation of various facilities required village. The need is monitored directly by the university as the guide of the village.
Furthermore Khofifah said that this program could also be integrated with the regional development program undertaken by Universitas Padjadjaran in West Java. As it is known, Universitas Padjadjaran is in the middle of implementing ASUP Jabar (Strategic Alliance Padjadjaran University in West Java), where one of its implementation is to send active professors of Unpad to perform community service through the program Professor in Village.
Khofifah appreciated Professor in Village program conducted by Unpad. According to her, this program could bring academic world to the village community closer. Based on the facts, she said that there are still many rural communities who have not understood the figure of a professor.
“This Professor in Village is magical. I understand what a professor and village are like, “said Khofifah.
Khofifah also hoped her meeting with Unpad can provide mutual reinforcement between the two parties, both on the program Professor in Village and programs developed in the Ministry of Social Welfare. *
Cooperation
Meanwhile, one of Unpad cooperation with the Ministry of Social Welfare RI was officiated through the signing of the Charter of Cooperation (MCC) between Unpad and Directorate General of Poverty Alleviation Ministry of Social Welfare. In this partnership, Unpad is asked to provide guidance on capacity building caretaker Business Group (Kube) concerning the establishment and operationalization of the Mutual Cooperation Warung Electronic (e-Warong).
The signing of the MCC was conducted by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Engagement, Cooperation, Innovation, and Business Universitas Padjadjaran, Dr. Keri Lestari, M.Sc., Apt., with the Director General of Poverty Management, Andi ZA Dulung, through the launch of E-Warong Service Kube Family Hope Program (PKH) Cooperative Society Prosperous Indonesia, in the field of ex-Situ Otong, Jalan Babakan Jati, Bandung, Friday (02/09).
E-Warong is one of the Ministry of Social Welfare program to reduce poverty in Indonesia. This service provided non-cash assistance through integrated banking application systems based on information technology. It aims to break the chain of moneylenders.
Every poor person who has Prosperous Family Card will automatically gain access to e-Warong transactions. Poor people could conduct transactions through the e-application system Warong Cooperative Society Indonesia Sejahtera (KMIS).
Khofifah said, e-Warong aims to avoid the possibility of moral hazard. “This requires assistance and empowerment of previously received a charity, it can be realized with the approach of prosperity,” said Khofifah. *
