[Unpad.ac.id, 9/09/2016] Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Padjadjaran in collaboration with research group QoLMARI and EuroQol Research Foundation held a symposium “A Big Step Forwards for Health Policy in Indonesia: The Introduction of The EuroQol EQ-5D-5L Value Sets and Other Recent Developments in Quality of Life Research and Cost-Effectiveness Analysis” in Bale Sawala Unpad Jatinangor Campus, 8 to 9 September.
Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Dr. Hendriati Agustiani, M.Sc., while giving an opening speech, Thursday (08/09), said that the symposium aimed to introduce questionnaire method EQ-5D-5L developed by EuroQol. This instrument is used as a measure to evaluate the health-related quality of life (HRQOL). EuroQol itself is a research group consisting of researchers from various countries in Europe.
“Through this symposium, we invite researchers in the field of quality of life to present their research results,” said Dr.Hendriati.
This instrument has been widely applied in 138 countries. In 2016, EQ-5D-5L has been validated and evaluated to obtain the value set of Indonesia. This is the first time for Indonesia that the questionnaire be evaluated at the national level.
The symposium is attended by a number of speakers, among others: Chairman of the Board of the EuroQol Research Foundation Prof.January Busschbach, PhD; Chairperson of QolMARI Prof. January Passchier; Associate Professor of Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore, Luo Nan, PhD; expert from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) International, Francis Ruiz, M.Sc; and lecturer of Faculty of Psychology Unpad who is also secretary of QolMARI Fredrick Dermawan Purba, M.Psi.
In addition to keynote speeches, the symposium was also filled with parallel sessions by the participants. Dr. Hendriati hoped that this symposium, besides increasing knowledge related to research in the field of quality of life, would initiate cooperation for researches and publications. The event was officially opened by the Rector, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad. *
