[Unpad.ac.id, 14/10/2016] Halal lifestyle is becoming a good business opportunity since the market continues to grow. Now, halal is no longer a concern Muslims. Halal has even become a world trend.

“Halal style has become global trend with business opportunity, not only ASEAN and Indonesia but global,” said Head of Indonesia Halal Lifestyle Center, Dr. H. Sapta Nirwandar in The First Padjadjaran International Conference on Halal Innovations in Bale Sawala, Rectorate Building Unpad campus Jatinangor, Friday (14/10).
Not only halal food, halal products also begins a concern, such as tourism, finance, cosmetics, education, fashion, medical services, to the arts and culture. Various activities related to halal agenda was already widely implemented, even in countries where the Muslim is minority.
Dr. Sapta also revealed the challenges related to the development of the halal industry in Indonesia. Among them is still inadequate application of the rules regarding halal product assurance and related research centers still lacking halal.
In line with Dr. Sapta, Dr. Hendri Saparini of the Committee on National Economy and Industry also said that Indonesia has a great chance halal business. It is also considering the market potential of resources in Indonesia is very large.
“Our market is expanding. This is the reason we should be optimistic on the market in Indonesia, especially those based halal products, “said Dr. Hendri.
We also must strive to become a leader and business hub kosher, especially in ASEAN. To that end, it should be the role of government to create regulations and a comprehensive strategy. In addition, related to the AEC and not just related to the competition, but also collaboration in improving the halal industry.
On the occasion, also attending Governor of West Sumatra, Prof. Dr. Irwan Prayitno, who shared the experience of West Sumatra became one of the best tourist destinations in Indonesia halal. In terms of food, for example, Prof. Iwan revealed that all the food in West Sumatra is not only clean and hygienic, but the important thing is being halal.
This seminar was held from Thursday (13/10) and was opened by Rector Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad. In his speech, Rector said that this seminar is very important, especially considering that Indonesia is a predominantly Muslim country in the world.
“I think it is important to identify the halal certification,” said Rector.

Chairman of the event, Dr. Efri Mardawati, said the purpose of this event is to determine how far the university’s research discusses the halal certification. “We wanted to explore how far the existing research at Universitas Padjadjaran and several universities. In addition, we will create an Innovation Center of Halal,” he said when met at the sidelines of the event.
With the early development of Innovation Centre Halal, Director of Innovation, Corporate Academic and Business, Prof. Dr. Tualar Simarmata, Ir., M: S appreciated and supported to facilitate these activities. “The Directorate is very encouraging friends from various faculties founded the Center for Leading Innovation Halal Center has become one of the central institutions that are international,” he said.
According to him, there are several factors that will innovate, namely technological innovation, policy innovation, and social innovation. Hopefully, this halal hub in the future will continue to innovate and evolve to provide new things.
“We have a lot of innovation in various fields. Halal center of excellence has become one of the mainstays of our innovations in Unpad. It is designed for a minimum of Southeast Asian level.
